MPG Image Michael Gavin - Chief Executive

Michael initially joined his fathers’ company straight from school in 1989 and simultaneously studied for his HNC in Construction Management at Tottenham Technical College. He initially trained as a Quantity Surveyor and in 1992 left MPG to join Irvine & Whitlock as a Site Manager. After gaining two years valuable experience at IW, Michael rejoined MPG and quickly progressed through the ranks, going from Construction Director to Managing Director in 2001. After graduating from the London Business School Senior Executive Programme in 1996, Michael undertook a management buy-out of MPG. The process culminated in a full restructure and the formation of the Executive Board. Michael is married with two children.

MPG Image Joel McInern - Commercial Director

Joel is the MPG Group Commercial Director and joined the business in July 2000. Joel is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He is 37, married and has a young family; two boys and one girl. After qualifying as a Quantity Surveyor in 1993, Joel started working for a Main Contractor in Ireland that year. In 1995 he emigrated to London where he continued his career in Quantity Surveying for specialist Sub-Contractors. In 1997 Joel joined a Property Development business, where his role involved the Project Management of several Residential & Commercial schemes, from acquisition to occupation within the London area. In 2000 Joel began his career in MPG; in 2002 MPG bought an External Cladding business which was re-named MPG Facades Ltd, to which Joel was appointed as Commercial Director. Together with the existing Managing Director of the acquired business, they successfully grew MPG Facades Ltd from a standing start to a £34m national business within 7 years. In 2008 Joel was appointed onto the MPG Group Board where he has responsibility for the Estimating, Commercial & Design Departments. His primary objectives are to strategically plan, secure and deliver sustainable and profitable growth for the Group, and to develop with his fellow Directors, the short and long term direction of the Business, to enable MPG to expand their service offering, and continue to be market leaders in the industry.

MPG Image Ged Maye - Financial Director

Ged is the MPG Group Finance Director and joined the company in January 2008. Ged is a qualified chartered management accountant and is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Prior to his career in the MPG Group, in 1994 he joined Parker Hannifin Corporation a US Fortune 500 Industrial component manufacturer as a Graduate Finance Trainee from Newcastle University. In 1997 he was appointed Financial Controller within the Parker Connectors Group and in 2000 he took up the role as International Business Systems Development Manager until 2003 when he became Finance Director for the UK and Ireland. He specialized in restructuring projects involving rationalization and consolidation of operations, implementing standard business systems and shared services along with supporting growth by way of acquisitions and integration. Ged is responsible for a number of functional disciplines within MPG namely Finance, Information Systems, Procurement, Plant & Access Services and Executive Director for Health and Safety. His priority is to manage and sustain growth and profitability within the business while ensuring effective cash management and robust controls are in operation. In addition he is involved in supporting the strategic direction of the group, directing investment in technology applications and to ensure that Health and Safety Standards are adhered to.
